JANE PLAYS PIANO IN SISSI

The wind was a bit of a problem, but Joanne made sure that my music stayed in place. I was very nervous and made a few mistakes but I enjoyed every minute of last night's music event which was staged on the harbour at Sissi. I was so pleased to have been the first person to play, because after me came a most wonderful pianist, Spiros Souladakis, then a host of very professional singers. For me the highlight of the evening was when Spiros accompanied Angeliki Kostaki, who sang pop music both in Greek and English. Angeliki is the daughter of Maria and George from the Pink Flamingo Taverna, in Sissi.

A big thank you should go to the members of the Cultural Committee of Sissi, who organized the event. Tasty souvlaki was available, and drinks. The fun will continue this evening (Sunday 8th August) with a programme of Greek/Cretan music, all played by well known local musicians. This is a first for Sissi, and I am sure that it will become an annual event. I think I had better start practicing for next year, now!
