ROSS DALY IN MILATOS

http://merambellonews.blogspot.com/2011/08/ross-daly_21.html

Oh dear I planned to go to see Ross an Kelly but was otherwise detained on the chiropractor's couch having 3 vertebrae re-alined. The good news is that now I'm all straightened out, I feel so much better. And the even better news is that I am going over to Houdetsi where Ross lives, on Friday, to attend an informal jam. How brilliant is that?

Love to all,
Jane x

Thanks for the correction George, must have been dreaming!

THE BLESSING OF THE TRADITIONAL HOUSE OF VRAHASSI

http://merambellonews.blogspot.com/2011/08/e-video.html

I did take pics of this wonderful event, but the merambello news got the best shots. Anybody who was anybody was in Vrahassi last night for the official blessing of the Traditional House folk museum. If you are in the area, then I must say it is well worth a visit.

Jane plays cello at Platanos in Vrahassi

I really enjoyed making a little music under the full moon on Friday evening. What a lovely place to play! Platanos Taverna in Vrahassi. We got there early so as not to disturb too many people, but I did have a little audience. All good practice. I am looking forward to seeing what I can achieve after another year of playing. In October I will have been learning for three years. How wonderful it was to have my grandson at my side while I played. I'm not sure the dog population of Vrahassi thought too much to it!

Tonight is the celebration of the Virgin Mary in Crete, with evening celebrations all over the island. Our closest ones are in Neapolis and Milatos. All good fun.

Happy 15th August to all.

Jane, Gillian and Julie play Haydn

Our first public performance! Whoopee! On to the next. We are on holiday for the month of August, but will be practicing hard come September. Unfortunately we cannot play for the Sisi music evening tomorrow, as we were only asked a few days ago and have other commitments. Maybe next year. Anyway, not playing means that I can go to the event without the stress of performing, and that is good. My family are over from England, and we shall all have a night out in Sissi tonight. So, I'm off to get my glad-rags on. Happy August!
